Following a phenomenal two years in the West End and a sensational first UK and Ireland tour, the “indisputably terrific” (The Times) OLIVIER AWARD-WINNING BEST NEW MUSICAL, charting the euphoric highs and agonizing lows of THE KINKS, is back and heading to Alexandra Palace Theatre, in the neighbourhood where the Davies brothers grew up!
Sunny Afternoon celebrates the raw energy, passion, and timeless sound of one of Britain’s most iconic bands, telling their story through an incredible back catalogue of chart-toppers, including You Really Got Me, Lola, and All Day and All of the Night.
Set against the backdrop of Britain on the cusp of the rebellious ’60s, Sunny Afternoon is an “exhilarating” (Financial Times) and moving celebration of the music, life, and the band that changed it all.
Sunny Afternoon features music and lyrics by the legendary Ray Davies, a book by Joe Penhall, original story by Ray Davies, and direction by Edward Hall.

Absolutely brilliant!! Fantastic casting too - the band even sounding and resembling their respective characters (I have seen The Kinks live) - thoroughly enjoyed the evening!
bit too loud, first half was rather slow, second half was much better, 18pounds for four ice creams daylight ROBBERY.
Such a fun and lively performance! Great for all ages and performed but some very talented individuals with barrels of enthusiasm!
Too many dialogues, sorry
Absolutely brilliant .. whilst i knew quite a lot of the Kinks 'story' this was fantastic. When the goup got into the hits it was like you were there in fhe 60's ... really really good ... looking to go again when the tour hits Brighton. This was so good .
Thanks to will for finding me another ticket so near .. be booking my next show soon .
Second time that I have seen the show, it was just as entertaining as the first time. Great live music lots of energy and the cast looked like they were really enjoying themselves. I am aware that Sunny Afternoon will soon be going on tour around the country and I will definately go to a performance at a local theatre. I would recommend the show to anyone that wants a good night out.
Brilliant show! The Kinks music is timelessly brilliant, and the guys who played the band, and all of the other actors and actresses, were all extremely talented. The music that was performed sounded amazing. Best show I've ever seen!
We had a wonderful evening, enjoyed iT very much!
Brilliant show. Had good seats at a very good price bought from London Theatre Direct
The show was superb, a fabulous performance.A couple of scenes were enacted at front of stage that were impossible to see from my seat on balcony( admittedly very cheap seats). I fully recommend the show!
