An unusual production, innovative and performed by extremely talented cast. Wonderfully enjoyable evening. Thank you.

We were bowled over by the quality of the performance and the wonderful way the pieces had been adapted. Difficult to pick any single thing out the standard was so consistently high, but the final moments of La Boheme left us sobbing. Magnificent.

How wonderful to see a small scale opera production that loses nothing in the telling. Equally superb to see these wonderful classics updated for our times. Asks relevant questions about our view of what is romantic. An attic in Paris, TB, doomed affairs, a Bohemian lifestyle contrast strongly with 21st century issues such as drug addiction, Grindr, organised crime groups. Superb singing and lively audience-interactive acting, all credit to the director and performers. I'm in favour of small niche venues but low ceilings and uncomfortable seats do detract just a little bit from the experience.

Great interpretations of both operas. Amazing intimate venue. Loved it.

Brilliant update on Bohemia’s

This production was a lot of fun, and captivating. I brought two young people with me who had not tried opera before and they loved it too!

You’re in it deep and then shocked and then wowed and then you just can’t believe it all.

Dan Topliss

Excellent compact versions of each Opera. Brilliant vocals.

We were absolutely immersed into the play and the feelings of the characters. Fiona and Hugo’s voices are just amazing and beside the flawless technique I find Fiona connects so well to the public. Thank you to you All for creating real art.

Full disclosure: I am not an opera fan per se, but I am a fan of experimentation, and Opera Undone is a successful example of it. Trafalgar Studios 2 is as intimate as it gets, so the staging is sparse, and the sweeping grandeur of standard opera is lacking. The performers act more naturally, and in this case, actually engage with the audience unavailable in standard opera. Not everyone will like the transition from classic Puccini presentation to a modern setting and in English, but I think it works, and works well in this particular venue. The singing is a bit too powerful - sometimes - in the space, but overall the moods and emotions, the harmonies and individual performances, strike well. If the producers intention was to make opera available (financially, and to the everyday person) then Opera Unleashed was especially successful. I smiled. I laughed. I was empathetic, and I was sadly resigned knowing the tragic outcome of a plot. Bravo to the production, and please do go if you can. These artists deserve the support and you deserve to see this!
