From the imagination of one of Ireland’s foremost dance and theatre-makers, Sadler’s Wells Associate Artist Michael Keegan-Dolan, comes a magical new adaptation of one of the most famous ballets in the world, Swan Lake.
Accompanied by an original score of traditional Irish and Nordic Folk music played live on fiddle, nyckelharpa, cello, voice and percussion, this new Swan Lake is rooted in 2016 in an imaginary place where ancient Irish mythology and modern Ireland meet. Featuring powerful imagery and beautiful dancing, Michael Keegan-Dolan has worked with eight dancers, two actors and three musicians to create a world of magical realism.
